Sport and Hazardous Activities
1. Sports and Recreational Activities

Occasional participation in the Sports and Recreational Activities as defined below, on a recreational and non-professional basis, are covered (with limitations indicated by *,**,***) within the terms of the ETI Policy at no additional premium (subject to the recognised equipment and safety precautions being utilised). Non-manual work undertaken during a holiday or leisure trip (including temporary bars, restaurants and farm holidays) is covered.

All amateur sports not involving physical contact are covered including abseiling*, archery**, badminton, baseball, basketball, bowls, canoe/kayak (lake and river, excluding white water), clay pigeon shooting**, cricket, cycling (non-competitive), curling, deep-sea fishing (no commercial/competition), dinghy sailing, dry skiing, fell walking, field hockey, fishing, go-carting**, golf**, heptathlon, lacrosse, marathon running, mountain biking, netball, orienteering, paintballing**, polo, pony trekking, rambling, rollerblading, rounders, rowing, safaris/gorilla (organised tours only), sailing (inland/coastal), sailboarding, skateboarding, snorkelling, squash, street hockey, surfing, tennis, trekking/hiking (organised tours only), tour operators’ safaris, volleyball (including beach), war games**, water polo, water-skiing**, and windsurfing.

*Excludes personal accident benefits, **Excludes personal liability benefits.

2. Hazardous Activities and Sports

Performing or taking part in Hazardous Activities and Sports (as defined below including any activities not listed) are excluded from the ETI policies unless We have agreed to cover (with limitations indicated by *,**,***) subject to an additional Policy Excess and premium being paid and the Policy Schedule is endorsed to that effect.

Hazardous Activities and Sports is defined as any pursuit or activity where it is recognised there is an increased risk of serious injury or can be reasonably expected to aggravate any existing infirmity such as: professional and/or amateur sports involving physical contact (e.g. American football, handball, football, martial arts, rugby), BMX riding, bungee jumping*, big-game hunting***, coastal waters canoe/kayak*, crewing a sailing boat or vessel from one country to another*, dangerous overland expeditions, fell running, fencing, gliding***, gymnastics, hang-gliding***, high diving (less than 10 metres), horse riding**, hot-air ballooning, hunting (on foot)**, jet-skiing**, kite boarding***, motor cycling or motor scootering or mechanically assisted cycling exceeding 125cc in engine capacity (when driving or being a passenger)***, mountaineering (requiring the use of ropes and/or guides), parachuting (solo or tandem)*, paragliding (overland)*, parapenting (overland)*, parascending (over water)*, pot-holing, quad-biking**, rifle range**, safaris (unless part of an organised tour), scuba or skin-diving deeper than 10 meters (PADI qualified diving), showjumping, skydiving***, steeplechasing, weightlifting (non-competitive), white-water rafting/canoeing/kayaking*.

3. Hazardous Winter sport activities

Hazardous winter sport activities are excluded whether or not you have taken out winter sport cover:

Hazardous winter sport activities are: ski jumping, ski racing in major events or ski-bob racing, Nordic Tele-mark skiing, the use of skeletons or bobsleighs, snow rafting, para-ponting, heli-skiing, ski or snowboard acrobatics (and jumping), skidiving or parachuting, off-piste skiing, glacier skiing, ice-hockey, any form of power assisted skiing or the use of mechanised snow mobiles except as provided by the recognised piste authorities for transport to and from areas designated for recreational skiing.

Performing or taking part in Hazardous Winter Sport activities (as defined above including any hazardous activities not listed) are excluded from the ETI policies unless We have agreed to cover subject to an additional Policy Excess, special Terms and premium being paid and the Policy Schedule is endorsed to that effect. Cover of Hazardous Winter sport activities will always exclude personal accident and personal liability benefits.
